COMENIUS PROJECT SUMMARY

Summary of the project work for the year 2010-2011
September
We started our project from setting up a group of teachers responsible for completing Comenius tasks. During the first meeting, a school coordinator presented the plan and activities for the two years of the project.
The tasks are completed regularly during the extra curricular lesson every Wednesday 12:45 to 13:30, supervised by Miss Olga Chodakowska, as well as during English lessons by Mrs. Agnieszka Cyran and IT lessons with Mrs. Ilona Wąsowicz and Miss Marta Patyk.
We contacted our partners from Spain and Turkey by e-mails. Students were informed about starting the project during English lessons and common room classes.
October
In October the project website „All of us are part of the same game” was created. We made a film about our school and prepared the first draft of the questionnaire about traditional children’s games. On the IT lesson the students made logo projects and started voting for the best one. For the needs of Comenius project an extra curricular lesson called “Play and games” was added to the 3rd grade. The lesson was conducted by Mrs. M. Dworczyńską, regularly every Tuesday.
07. 10. 2010- The day of games- board games in English and Polish. The activities took place in the school common room.
The first Comenius project information board was prepared.
November
The first partners’ visit took place from 29 November to 3 December 2010 in Spanish School
COLEGIO DE EDUCACIÓN INFANTIL Y PRIMARIA ALBAICÍN. The main aim of the visit was to meet the partner and coordinator of the project, as well as to discuss in detail all tasks of the project and the changes in the schedule of the next visits.
The next visits were planned as follows:
01 – 05.03. 2011 visit in Turkey
09 – 13.05.2011r. visit in Poland
21 – 25.05.2012r. visit in Turkey
We also toured the school and met other teachers. We had an opportunity to learn something about the organizational matters of the Spanish school.

16. 11. 2010 –The day of the games. Students from grade VI played darts, table tennis. The activities took place in the school hall near the gym.
December
In December the questionnaire was carried out among IV to VI grade students and then the analysis of the results was made.
09. 12. 2010 The day of games- playing in the snow. The activity took place in the school park.
January
We started organizing a drama club , the students were chosen and we started writing a script of the play “The world is our playground”. Drama classes were conducted by Polish teachers J. Grodecka and A. Stroinśka and English teachers” Agnieszka Cyran and Olga Chodakowska
We also began collecting the materials for the album about traditional outdoor games
( information and pictures).
February
08.02.2011- The day of games - games with Klanza , Hot Stone and Colors, Music and TPR games: Magic number seven, The weather, Musical chairs
We finished the script for the play “The world is our playground” and we started rehearsing regularly every Monday at 13.30. Students from grade IVa were involved in the play.
March
The next partner visit took place from 01-05 March 20011 in the Turkish school GÜN SAZAK YATILI İLKÖĞRETIM BÖLGE OKULU. The students welcomed us with traditional Turkish dances, which they performed in traditional clothes. We could see some of the typical outdoor games. The students staged three scenes of the play “The world is our playground” both in Turkish and in English.
During the visit each school presented the results of the questionnaire” Traditional children’s games. Apart from that, we discussed the tasks for the next months. Besides, the scripts of the play and some sample pages of the album were presented. Finally, we compared the results of our work. The coordinator presented a draft of the Comenius website.
We also toured the entire school and had an opportunity to learn some facts about the Turkish educational system.
We took part in a meeting with the mayor of Beypazari and Esksehir.

14.03.2011- The day of games – games with newspapers, music and TPR games.
April
We continued rehearsing for the play. Finally, we recorded the play, put it on a CD and on our school website.
20.04.2011 – The day of games - grade Va played Polish traditional Hopscotch and Chinese jump rope.
May
We organized the third Comenius meeting at our school.
